Soldier Field 10 Race Details

The Courses

Saturday, May 27, 2023
10 Mile — 7:00 a.m.
10K – 7:30 a.m.*
*Start times subject to change based on the number of participants in the 10K

The Soldier Field 10 courses highlight the city’s biggest attractions. Our 10 Mile and 10K courses follow the same routes, minus an earlier turnaround for 10K runners. You’ll start at Soldier Field and head south on a traffic-free DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Once you hit the turnaround of your race, you’ll head back toward Soldier Field and finish ON the field along the coastline of Lake Michigan in the shadow of Chicago’s skyline. Both courses are USATF-certified. Aid stations will be offered throughout the course.

Corrals

SF10 uses a corral system to maintain a safe, fast, and fun course for all participants. Corrals will be assigned approximately two weeks prior to race day and will be printed on your bib. Corrals will close 15 minutes prior to the start of the race. Corrals will go off approximately every 3 minutes.
Please note that a 15-minute-per-mile pace (4 mph) is required to complete this event. If you fall behind this pace, race organizers can no longer guarantee course support, including aid stations, medical support, portable toilets, and road closures. Local police and race organizers might also ask you to reroute to a shorter version of the course or move onto the sidewalk where you will be required to obey regular traffic laws.

Post-Race Tailgate

The Post-Race Tailgate will be held on the Stadium Green outside of Soldier Field immediately following the race from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The event will feature live music, 1 complimentary beer for every participant (21+), food options (more details coming soon), and vendor booths. Your drink ticket will be attached to your bib.

Additional beverages will be available for purchase. IDs will be checked at the beer serving stations. Be sure you have your ID with you before entering the beer service stations for easy and efficient service. Additional beer tickets will be available for purchase during the Post-Race Tailgate.

Parking

Volunteers, participants and spectators can park in the Waldron Garage and South Lot starting at 3:30 a.m. or the North Garage, starting at 4:30 a.m. Entrances are marked on the Parking Map. Follow the direction of parking officials. Parking is free until 7:30 a.m. or once the lots are full, whichever occurs first. Should lots fill before 7:30 a.m., vehicles will be directed to remote parking locations. After 7:30 a.m., normal parking rates apply; payment will be required as you enter.

In order to ensure that you have a relaxed and enjoyable experience race morning, please plan to arrive at Soldier Field no later than 6:00 a.m.
